Come and here about the application process and some presentations from local secondary school about what they offer. this is a chance to meet representatives from secondary schools in a small environment and ask al the questions you would like!

September 2026: Lewisham meeting for parents at The Civic Suite in Catford Final date TBC

This is an informal event for parents to ask questions about the admissions process and to meet staff, parents and students from our secondary schools.

Applications

Schools open for visits: September/October 2026 (please check on school websites for up to date open day/evening information)
Applications open (apply online by clicking here): From Tuesday 1 September 2026
Closing date for applications: Saturday 31 October 2026 (we recommend that you submit your online application before the half term holiday in October. )
Closing date for supplementary forms (if required) to be returned to the school directly: Saturday 31 October 2026

Offers

Results for online applications: Monday 1st March 2027 (you will get an email in the evening telling you where your child has been offered a place)
Deadline for accepting your offer: Monday 15th March 2027 (if you applied online, you must accept the offer online – you should keep a record of your login details)

Online applications

Applications for secondary school choices can be made from 1st September 2026. The site is open until October 31st but please do aim to complete the application before this date.

Children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

Most children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities can get the support they need at local mainstream schools.

If your child has an Education, Health and Care Plan, you need to follow a different process when applying for a secondary school place. Grammar schools

Lewisham does not have any grammar schools. If you are looking at a grammar school for your child they need to be registered to take the test usually before the end of May while they are in Year 5.

We recommend that you go and see as many secondary schools as you can and if possible, visit while the schools are open and the children are learning in them.
