Our Values

As a school we concentrate on the promotion of 4 key values.

These underpin everything that happens in the school.

  • Respect - allowing yourself and others to do and be the best by showing due regard for others feelings, wishes and rights. Receiving respect from others is important because it helps us to feel safe and to express ourselves.
  • Resilience - the ability to bounce back from adversity. It is a necessary skill for coping with life’s inevitable obstacles and one of the key ingredients to success. Learning to bounce back and to bounce forward.Perseverance- having the ability to continue to maintain a purpose in spite of difficulties.
  • Honesty - we are truthful in what we say and do. People can rely on us because we have integrity. We respond truthfully when asked about a situation and share important information with trusted adults.
  • Ambition - a strong desire to achieve the best for ourselves and others. do well and succeed in what we do. By setting our goals high we commit ourselves to constant and never-ending improvement.

Through our curriculum we aim to achieve the following:-

  • Improve behaviour, conduct and self confidence by developing strong values within the pupils at the school.
  • Develop pupils understanding of what values are and why they are important in life.
  • Encourage children to ‘live the values’ in all aspects of their lives both in school and out.
  • Promote values to pupils in every aspect of school life.
  • Promote values in the way in which adults interact with each other and with pupils
  • Display our school values and encourage all visitors to take account of them in their time in the school.
  • Enable children to focus upon the positive aspects of themselves that they can value, thereby reminding them of their individual worth, their worth in the school and wider communities and the worth of those communities themselves.
  • To raise standards by promoting a school ethos that is underpinned by core values which support the development of the whole child as a reflective learner within a calm, caring, happy and purposeful atmosphere.
