Twin Oaks Primary School

Our School

Elijah in Year 6 has written a report about our school.

Twin Oaks Primary School

Introduction

Twin Oaks Primary School is on Ofsted rated Good school, located in Deptford in the London borough of Lewisham.  We are a one form entry school where everybody knows everybody.  We are a very diverse school, treating everyone the same, no matter their race, beliefs or background.  Wouldn't you like to be in a great school like this?

Teachers

Teachers in Twin Oaks Primary School do their best to provide a safe and healthy environment to help the students learn their best and help the teachers to teach their best.

Sport

Twin Oaks Primary School is very well known for its success in tournaments.  We get taught sports such as: tag rugby, football, tennis, hockey, basketball, handball, cricket and lots of other fun games, from our PE teacher - Martin.  We have won over 50 tournaments and have been given the opportunity to represent Millwall in a football competition, and almost got to Wembley (England's first team stadium).  We are local friendly rivals with All Saints Primary School which is located in Blackheath.

Education

From Reception to Year 6, your child will be taught a variety of lessons such as English (reading, writing and spelling), science, PSHE, PE, RE, geography, cooking, history, computing and art.  We also go on trips which are related to our learning, like art galleries for art, and the site of the New Cross fire, for local history.

School Song

We wrote our school song when we changed the name of our school from Sir Francis Drake to Twin Oaks.  The song is about how fun it is at our school.

Behaviour

At Twin Oaks we encourage each other to behave (being nice, kind and respectful).  We have also put things in place for children who are dysregulated, like going to see the Headteacher (Miss Cartwright) and the Deputy Headteacher (Miss Langridge).  We also have a learning mentor called Miss French whose job it is to help when you are annoyed and are finding things difficult.
